3. Do you have airplane rentals?

Warsaw Municipal Airport (ASW) does not have an airplane fleet. The Warsaw Flying Club, not affiliated with ASW, has aircraft for rent. Their contact number is (888) 566-3877.

4. Do you have overnight hangar space?

Due to high demand, transient hangar space is generally limited. The local EAA chapter will occasionally have hangar space available for a $25 donation. For assistance in finding accommodations, please call the airport manager prior to arrival.

5. Do you have a flight school?

The Warsaw Flying Club, not affiliated with the Warsaw Municipal Airport (ASW), offers ground and flight instruction. Their contact number is (888) 566-3877.

6. Do you have de-icing?

No. We do not offer de-icing services.

7. Do you have landing and ramp fees?

No. There are no fees of any type to use Warsaw Municipal Airport.

8. Can I still land at the airport after the terminal is closed?

Yes. While the terminal is closed during off-hours, the airport is open with access to a telephone 24 hours a day. After-hours service can be obtained by calling (574) 267-3689. A $25 after-hours fee applies.

Fire Department

1. Can I burn trash or brush in the city?

Residents of the City of Warsaw are not permitted by City Ordinance to burn any material within the city limits. The City of Warsaw provides trash pickup and yard trimming pickup with certain restrictions. Please contact the City of Warsaw Street Department for answers to these concerns. There are other State of Indiana laws that prohibit other types of burning within the Township area. Please call the Fire Marshal at 372-9502 for information if you reside in Wayne Township. 2. Can I have a camp fire or bonfire in my back yard?

A campfire or a recreational fire is described as "an outdoor fire utilized to cook food for human consumption". This is the most popular fire for hanging out in the back yard. These fires do not require a permit or have a limitation as to hours of operation. We ask citizens to use common sense when utilizing a recreational fire. Keep it small, attended, and in a ring on the ground or appropriate container away from houses, garages or wooden fences. A bonfire is described as "an outdoor fire used for ceremonial purposes". If you anticipate having a bonfire, please call the fire department for guidelines. As always, be considerate of your neighbors. We recommend you discuss this with them due to the potential of smoke interfering with possible health problems. In any event, if a complaint is called into the fire department, you may be asked to extinguish the fire.

General Guidelines for Burning:
Always use caution when burning. Any type of fire should be continuously attended. Do not go in the house or walk away from a burning, or even a smoldering fire. Keep children and animals away. Have a hose or bucket of water immediately available to extinguish the fire, and ensure the fire is completely out before leaving or retiring for the night. Recreational fires have caused numerous neighborhood conflicts over the years. Please be considerate of your neighbors--especially elderly neighbors with health conditions--when windows are open in the summer or when you see clothes drying on a line. The fire department reserves the right, and is required by law, to ask you to extinguish any type of fire if it causes a nuisance in the neighborhood. If you have any questions concerning the ordinance, or to issue a complaint, please call the department at 372-9502.

3. Will the fire department check a child's car seat?

If you bring your vehicle and car seat to either fire station there are trained department members that will check the installation and safety of your child's car seat. We recommend you call 372-9502 prior to the visit to check on availability of department members.

4. Does the fire department give away or install smoke detectors?

Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory personnel will install smoke detectors for residents that need assistance. The department also has a free smoke detector program for city and township residents. To request assistance, please phone the department at 372-9502.

5. Where do I call for information on fire codes and building inspections?

Contact the Fire Marshal’s Office at 574-372-9502. We are dedicated to assisting you with answers to important and “confusing” issues to the International Fire Codes, Indiana Fire Codes, and the City of Warsaw Ordinances. We pride ourselves with education to the public, business owners, and corporations by assisting them with education through on-site inspections and code compliances.

6. How do I get a copy of a fire report?

If you need a copy of a fire report, your request needs to be made in writing. The report can be picked up at Station #2, 2204 E. Center St. or fax your request to 574-267-7962. If you have any questions, contact the office at 574-372-9502.

7. How do I schedule a tour of the fire station or request fire fighters for a school visit or public event?

Tours of the stations and public appearances can be scheduled by contacting the department at 372-9502.

8. Will the fire department get my cat out of a tree?

The fire department will evaluate each situation, but usually will not bring a truck to rescue animals. We suggest placing food on the ground underneath the tree (tuna works well) and when the cat gets hungry enough, it will come down. For other animal-related incidents, we suggest contacting the Warsaw Police Department's Animal Control Officer at 574-372-9511 and describe your problem.

2. How do I get an item included on a city agenda?

To get an item on a Common Council agenda or Board of Public Works & Safety agenda, contact the Mayor's Office (574) 372-9595. Agendas and packets for Council meetings (usually the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month) are prepared on the previous Friday. Agendas and packets for Board of Works meetings (usually the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month) are prepared on the previous Wednesday.

3. Can I use the Council Chambers for a meeting?

City board and commission meetings take first priority over use of the Council Chambers. However, there are some local not-for-profit groups that do meet in the Council Chambers on a regular basis. Contact the Mayor's Office to inquire about use of this room, (574) 372-9595.

4. When is the City's Trick-or-Treat Night?

The City's trick-or-treat is always held on Halloween night (October 31), unless it falls on a Sunday. Then it is takes place on the Saturday night prior. Hours are 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

5. How do I report a problem about a street light?

If you notice a street light that is broken or burned out, you can visit NIPSCO.com and submit a request to have it fixed. An interactive map identifies all of the street lights owned or maintained by NIPSCO. So if you don't have the exact pole number, you'll be able to search for the street light by address or location. Oakwood Cemetery

3. Can I volunteer at an event?

Absolutely! We value every willing hand and heart that helps with our programs and events. Volunteers are what make our programs successful and possible for the community. We have almost every opportunity imaginable to suit your skills and interests.

4. How do I reserve or rent a Parks Department facility?

Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department facilities may be reserved one year in advance on the first working day of the month your event is scheduled for.

Reservations are available through the park office at Central Park. Some facilities require deposits, so please call the Central Park Office at (574) 372-9554 for more information.

5. Can I fish in the park after hours?

You may fish in the park after hours if you obtain an After Hours Fishing Pass at the Central Park Office during regular business hours. These passes are free, but you must have on with you at all times after hours to be permitted in the park. The Central Park Office is open Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm.

6. What methods of payment do you accept?

We currently accept only cash and checks. Checks must be made out to "City Of Warsaw Parks Department". We cannot accept checks for more than the payment amount due.

7. How can my company or organization become a program or event sponsor?

Sponsors are the core of successful programming. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact Staci Young, Recreation Director, at syoung@warsaw.in.gov or call (574) 372-9554. Sponsorship packages are available that offer different benefits to your organization.

8. Can my group perform for one of your concerts or events?

To be considered for a performance date, you must submit a press kit (hard copy or electronic) to Staci Young, Recreation Director, by email at syoung@warsaw.in.gov or by mail at 117 E. Canal Street, Warsaw, IN 46580. Press kits must include music demos, references (no bars or clubs), and past venues performed at. Please no phone calls. We will contact you if more information is needed or to pursue further opportunities.

9. Are dogs allowed in the parks?

Dogs are not permitted in any of Warsaw's parks. At this time, there are no plans for a dog park within the city. Service dogs are permitted and welcome, but they must be clearly identified and you should have proper paperwork with you.

1. How do I file a police report?

Call Central Dispatch at 574-372-9511 to request an officer come to your location within the City of Warsaw, or come to the police station at 2191 E. Fort Wayne Street.

2. How do I get a copy of the police report I filed?

You must come to the police station to request a copy. The Records Division is open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. There is no charge for copies of incident reports; however, there is a $10 charge for copies of a crash report.

3. How do I pay a parking ticket?

You may put the ticket and money inside the yellow envelope provided and bring it to the police station, or mail the ticket and payment to the police department at the address on the envelope. There are also a number of yellow fine deposit boxes attached to light poles in the downtown area.

4. What is needed for an out-of-state vehicle title check?

An officer will need to verify that the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the title matches the VIN plate on the vehicle. Bring both the vehicle and the current title to the police station.

5. Can the police do anything about my neighbor's loud music?

Yes, call Central Dispatch at 372-9511 when the loud music or any such noise is bothering you. An officer will be dispatched to the offender's house to request the music or noise be stopped.

6. What if I see a suspicious person in my neighborhood?

Community involvement is very import to the police department. It takes concerned citizens working with the police to keep our citizens safe. Yes, you should call Central Dispatch at 372-9511 if you see someone acting suspicious in your neighborhood.

7. Why did a speeding police car turn off its lights and siren after it got through a red light?

The officer was probably responding to an emergency call when the status of the call changed (level of emergency reduced), so he was either then disregarding the call or slowing down his response accordingly.

2. When does the Street Department spray for mosquitoes in my neighborhood?

The city is divided into four sections (north, east, south, west). The spraying crew rotates to these sections on a daily basis, weather permitting. However, rain, wind, or temperatures below 60 degrees will prevent them from spraying and delay the schedule.

3. When will my trash be picked up?

Trash, yard waste, and recycling should all be set out by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled pickup day. Call (574) 372-9561 for further information.

4. What are the guidelines for properly bagging my trash?

Trash must be bagged and placed in no larger than a 32-gallon trash container with a handle and tight-fitting lid. Total weight can not exceed 40 pounds.

5. What are the guidelines for preparing yard waste for pickup?

Yard waste must be bagged or boxed, not to exceed 40 pounds in weight. Tree limbs should be no longer than four feet (4') in length and six inches (6") in diameter.

6. Can building materials be put with my household trash for pickup?

No building materials, auto parts, tires, or whole carpets will be accepted by city trash pickup. The City of Warsaw is not set up to properly dispose of refuse "over and beyond normal household trash." Examples of items that cannot be accepted and will need to be disposed of by the property owner include: contractor generated material, construction/remodeling/demolition debris, residential clean-outs and/or excess trash from a move.

7. Will the city pick up my old television?

Televisions, microwaves, and computer monitors are not allowed in the landfill. Please take these items to KC Recycling Depot (Kosciusko County Solid Waste District), 220 S. Union Street, Warsaw. Call (574) 372-3087 for more information. Kosciusko County Recycling Depot
